Business
Scilex Holding Company (Nasdaq: SCLX), headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and founded in 2020, focuses on acquiring, developing, and commercializing non-opioid pain management products for acute and chronic pain treatment, including post-herpetic neuralgia, migraine, gout flares, lumbosacral radicular pain or sciatica, low back pain, and fibromyalgia. The company offers commercialized products such as ZTlido (lidocaine topical system) 1.8%, a prescription patch with advanced adhesion technology for pain relief associated with post-herpetic neuralgia; ELYXYB, a ready-to-use oral solution of celecoxib for acute migraine treatment with or without aura in adults, launched in the U.S. in April 2023; and GLOPERBA, a liquid oral colchicine formulation for gout flare prophylaxis in adults, with commercialization planned for 2024. Its pipeline includes SP-102 (SEMDEXA, dexamethasone sodium phosphate viscous gel) 10 mg for epidural injection in Phase 3 with Fast Track FDA status for sciatica; SP-103 (lidocaine topical system) 5.4%, a triple-strength ZTlido formulation in Phase 2 with Fast Track status for acute low back pain; and SP-104 (low-dose naltrexone hydrochloride delayed-release capsules) 4.5 mg for fibromyalgia. Wholly-owned subsidiaries Scilex Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Semnur Pharmaceuticals Inc. support operations primarily in the U.S. Recent developments include the announcement in August 2025 of a $20 million private placement by Semnur with Denali Capital Acquisition Corp. to fund SP-102's second Phase 3 trial ahead of a pending business combination expected in September 2025; warrant exercises generating $20.3 million gross proceeds in November 2025; and the closing of a second tranche investment in Datavault AI Inc. in November 2025, completing a two-tranche equity financing.
