Global X MSCI SuperDividend Emerging Markets ETF (SDEM) is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the United States and managed by Global X Management Company LLC that seeks to provide investment results corresponding generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the MSCI Emerging Markets Top 50 Dividend Index. The fund invests in an equal-weighted portfolio of 50 high dividend yielding equities selected from emerging market countries, focusing on stocks with the highest yields while excluding those ranking low on recent price return; it emphasizes value-oriented income strategies across diversified sectors including financials, materials, industrials, communication services, utilities, consumer discretionary, energy, real estate, consumer staples, and information technology, with country and sector caps at 35% for diversification. SDEM distributes dividends monthly and may invest up to 20% of assets in futures, options, swaps, cash equivalents, and other stocks, targeting investors seeking exposure to faster-growing emerging markets. Global X Management Company LLC, the issuer of SDEM, founded Global X ETFs in 2008 and is headquartered in New York, New York; the firm was acquired by Mirae Asset Global Investments in 2018 and now manages over $73 billion in U.S. assets across more than 100 ETFs as of late 2025. SDEM itself was launched on March 16, 2015, with current net assets around $39-42 million, an expense ratio of 0.68%, and a trailing 12-month dividend yield of approximately 5.7%. The fund operates globally, providing exposure to companies in emerging markets across Asia, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, including top holdings such as China Hongqiao Group Ltd., Absa Group Ltd., and PetroChina Co. Ltd. Recent developments for Global X include surpassing $73.5 billion in U.S. AUM in October 2025, reflecting 13-fold growth since the Mirae Asset acquisition, and launching new ETFs such as the Global X Gold Miners ETF (AUAU) in December 2025, Global X AI Semiconductor & Quantum ETF (CHPX) earlier in 2025, and Global X Bitcoin Covered Call ETF (BCCC) in June 2025. The firm announced a strategic partnership with Nasdaq Dorsey Wright earlier in 2025 to enhance momentum-based investing strategies and continues monthly distributions for its ETF suite, including SDEM's consistent payouts through August 2025. No SDEM-specific changes such as reverse splits, rebranding, or index shifts have occurred since its prior name update to incorporate MSCI in November 2016, though Global X's broader platform expansions support ongoing product innovation.
