- Hiap Seng Industries Limited provides integrated engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and plant maintenance services to the oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, power generation, pharmaceutical, and energy industries. Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Singapore, the company operates across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Middle East through subsidiaries and fabrication facilities. Hiap Seng Industries operates primarily through two core business divisions: Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), and Plant Maintenance and Services. The Engineering, Procurement and Construction segment delivers turnkey design, fabrication, and installation solutions, encompassing atmospheric and pressurized storage tankage systems comprising cryogenic tanks, spherical storage tanks, fixed and floating roof tanks, and mounded bullets; customized high-pressure process vessels, column towers, and shell-and-tube heat exchangers; modular process skid packages and plant assemblies; carbon, alloy, and stainless steel process piping systems; heavy structural steel fabrication and erection; static and rotating mechanical equipment installation; electrical, instrumentation, and control system integration; and associated civil, foundation, and structural building works. The Plant Maintenance and Services segment delivers ongoing operational support and lifecycle asset management, encompassing routine maintenance, comprehensive turnaround and plant shutdown management; emergency mechanical repairs and piping replacements; heat exchanger maintenance, retubing, and bundle pulling; catalyst handling and vessel interior servicing; rotating equipment overhauls; and multi-year term maintenance contracts for refineries, petrochemical plants, and specialty chemical facilities. In recent major developments, Hiap Seng Industries completed a comprehensive financial and operational restructuring under a court-approved scheme of arrangement, securing strategic white-knight equity investments, completing debt-to-equity conversions, and resuming trading of its shares on the Singapore Exchange. Strategically, the company has refocused its operational model on securing long-term, high-margin recurring plant maintenance and turnaround contracts across Jurong Island and regional industrial clusters, modernizing its automated pre-fabrication yards, and expanding its technical service capabilities to support industrial decarbonization, biofuels processing, and green energy infrastructure projects.
