Business
Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp. is a Greece-based shipping company that provides marine dry bulk transportation services worldwide through the ownership and operation of a modern fleet of Capesize vessels. The company owns and operates 20 vessels, comprising two Newcastlemax and 18 Capesize ships with an aggregate deadweight tonnage capacity of approximately 3,633,861 dwt and an average fleet age of 14.3 years; its vessels primarily transport major dry bulk commodities including iron ore, coal and grains on spot and time charter contracts to customers such as mining companies, trading houses and commodity consumers. Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp. was incorporated in the Marshall Islands in 2008, formerly known as Seanergy Merger Corp., and maintains executive offices at 154 Vouliagmenis Avenue in Glyfada, Greece, with its common shares listed on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker symbol SHIP. In January 2025, the company expanded its fleet through the acquisition of two high-quality Japanese-built vessels for approximately $69 million, including a 207,851 dwt Newcastlemax built in 2013 by Imabari Shipbuilding and a 178,459 dwt Capesize built in 2011 by Mitsui, both delivered in the first quarter of 2025 and increasing total capacity to about 3.8 million dwt across 21 vessels; additionally, in September 2025 Seanergy sold its 170,057 dwt Capesize vessel M/V Geniuship for $21.6 million, generating $12 million in net cash proceeds and an expected $2.5 million accounting profit while avoiding drydocking costs.
