Business
ShinMaywa Industries, Ltd. engages in the manufacture and sale of transportation equipment including special purpose trucks, aircraft, industrial machinery, and environmental systems primarily in Japan, Asia, North America, and internationally. Its core products include amphibious aircraft and aircraft components; special purpose trucks such as dump trucks, refuse compactors, concrete mixers, tailgate lifters, tankers, and forestry machinery; fluid and related equipment essential for water treatment including various centrifugal and vertical pumps; mechanical car parking systems; wire processing systems used in automotive and home appliance industries; environmental systems including waste management and recycling equipment; aircraft passenger boarding bridges; and advanced surface modification technologies involving vacuum coating and ultra-low temperature refrigeration. Founded in 1949 and headquartered in Takarazuka, Japan, the company maintains a robust presence across these diversified industrial segments. Recent major developments include the establishment of a joint venture with Marubeni Aerospace Corporation in February 2024 called JAMS, which focuses on aircraft maintenance services specializing in business jets at Central Japan International Airport, thus expanding ShinMaywa's aviation maintenance footprint. In early 2025, ShinMaywa announced plans to acquire full ownership of TOP QUALITY MACHINERY in Taiwan to bolster its urban infrastructure and parking systems business across Taiwan and Southeast Asia. Additionally, the company launched initiatives into autonomous mobile robots for distribution systems as part of its research and development efforts in 2024. These strategic moves reflect ShinMaywa's focus on expanding its aircraft maintenance services, urban infrastructure solutions, and innovative technology integration in logistics and manufacturing processes. ShinMaywa’s operations target commercial, industrial, and governmental customers with a strong emphasis on quality and innovation across its product lines. Its subsidiaries and affiliates support widespread service and maintenance networks, particularly in water treatment equipment through ShinMaywa Aqua Tech Service Co., Ltd., which operates nationwide in Japan and supports global installations. The company is also a significant contractor providing key components for Boeing aircraft, such as wing fairings and spars, underlining its role in the aerospace supply chain. These activities position ShinMaywa as a comprehensive provider of transportation, environmental, and industrial equipment solutions across multiple global markets.
