Business
SMS Co., Ltd. (TSE: 2175) develops and operates information infrastructure services for the nursing care, medical care, healthcare, career, and elderly care sectors, primarily serving businesses, practitioners, and end-users in Japan. The company provides management support platforms and meal home delivery search services to nursing care providers; communication sales and healthcare-related offerings; recruiting information services, nursing care staffing, and medical-related businesses in the career segment; and medical information services for staff and operators in overseas markets. Founded on April 4, 2003, and headquartered at Sumitomo Fudosan Shibakoen Tower in Minato-ku, Tokyo, SMS employs over 4,500 people on a consolidated basis and targets hospitals, elderly care operators, nursing professionals, patients, and senior citizens amid Japan's aging society. Recent developments include a change in representative director with Natsuki Goto assuming the role of President and CEO in October 2025; validation of greenhouse gas emission reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in May 2025; introduction of a progressive dividend policy and a new share repurchase program in April 2025; issuance of performance-conditioned stock acquisition rights in July 2025; and ongoing share repurchases completed through mid-2025, alongside strong growth in elderly care career services like Kaipoke and overseas operations as new business pillars.
