Launched on June 18, 2012, and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts as part of the State Street SPDR family, the ETF trades on NYSE Arca under the ticker SPHY and has grown to approximately $10 billion in assets under management. In April 2019, the fund underwent a major strategic shift by changing its benchmark index from the ICE BofA US Diversified Crossover Corporate Index to the broader ICE BofA US High Yield Index, enhancing its coverage of the junk bond market. Additionally, prior to September 23, 2019, the fund operated under the name SPDR ICE BofAML Broad High Yield Bond ETF with the ticker CJNK, reflecting a rebranding to align with the SPDR Portfolio suite.
