St. James's Place plc provides wealth management and financial advice services to individuals, trustees and businesses throughout the United Kingdom. The company offers investment solutions including managed funds and investment trusts; retirement planning products such as pensions; protection and life insurance; intergenerational wealth management; estate management; savings plans; banking services; and mortgages. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, at St. James's Place House, 1 Tetbury Road, the firm operates over 20 offices across the UK and manages approximately £190 billion in assets under management as of December 2024. St. James's Place plc employs a network of over 4,500 accredited advisers to deliver personalised financial planning to high-net-worth individuals and other clients. Recent developments include a major fee structure overhaul effective August 2025, which simplifies charges by separating advice, product and fund fees; eliminates early withdrawal charges on new pension and bond investments; introduces tiered initial advice fees of 1% to 3%; and reduces fund management costs for nearly 95% of its funds below sector averages. In November 2025, the company completed the sale of a £400 million multi-asset real estate portfolio comprising 16 industrial, retail and office properties primarily in London and the South East of England to Lone Star Funds, as part of winding down its Property Unit Trust and Life and Pensions Trust. Additionally, in 2024, St. James's Place announced a restructuring to achieve £100 million in cost savings by 2027, involving a reduction of approximately 580 jobs; set aside £426 million for client refunds related to overcharging and unprovided advice; and appointed Mark FitzPatrick as chief executive officer effective December 2023.
