Fount Subscription Economy ETF (SUBS) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide investment results corresponding generally to the total return performance of the Fount Subscription Economy Index, prior to fees and expenses. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in securities of subscription companies, which are defined as those deriving recurring revenue from selling products or services through subscription models; its portfolio typically comprises around 50 holdings across sectors including technology services (approximately 61%), communications (12%), finance (8%), commercial services, retail trade, and others, with a focus on large-cap growth and value stocks from global markets such as the United States, Canada, China, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Launched in October 2021 under the sponsorship of Fount Investment Co., Ltd., a South Korean fintech firm, in partnership with U.S.-based adviser Exchange Traded Concepts, LLC, and listed on NYSE Arca, the ETF targets investors seeking exposure to the subscription economy across diversified market capitalizations and regions worldwide.
In May 2023, Exchange Traded Concepts announced the voluntary closure and liquidation of the fund, effective on or about May 26, 2023, following consultation with Fount Investment; trading ceased on May 25, 2023, with shareholders receiving cash distributions equivalent to net asset value, marking a significant operational termination due to factors including low assets under management. Despite this liquidation, certain trading platforms continued to display SUBS ticker activity and pricing as of late 2025, potentially reflecting residual or erroneous listings rather than active operations. The ETF maintained a quarterly dividend policy prior to closure, with yields around 1% and payments such as $0.04 per share in March 2023. Headquartered through its adviser in Oklahoma City, the fund had no reported subsidiaries or parent entities beyond its index provider and sponsor relationships.
