- Sugat Group Ltd is an Israel-based food ingredients and packaged-food company engaged in the import, export, production, processing, packaging, marketing and distribution of cooking and baking products for retail, industrial and professional customers. The Company markets hundreds of products under the Sugat, Etz Hazait (Olive Tree), Melakh Haaretz (Salt of the Earth), Pereg Spices, Al Arz Tahini, El Nakhla and Popstar brands, including sugar; rice; pulses and legumes; grains and cereals; flour; couscous; flakes; bakery products; edible oils; salt; spices; tahini; coffee; popcorn; and canned foods. Sugat serves food retailers, food manufacturers, government institutions, industrial plants, hospitals, hotels, educational institutions, the Israel Defense Forces and other food-sector customers, supported by domestic production, packaging and logistics operations and export activities. The Company operates primarily in Israel and exports tens of thousands of tonnes of food products annually. Founded in the 1960s and headquartered in Kiryat Gat, Israel, Sugat became publicly listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange in late 2025 through an initial public offering that raised approximately NIS 360 million. The Company has pursued portfolio expansion through acquisitions under the ownership of Fortissimo Capital and Poalim Equity, including the early-2026 acquisition of Filtuna for approximately NIS 55 million. In May 2026, Fortissimo Capital agreed to sell a 35% interest in Sugat to institutional investors for approximately NIS 430 million; following the transaction, Fortissimo was expected to retain a 19% interest and remain the Company’s largest shareholder.
