Business
Jilin Electric Power Co.,Ltd. is a China-based electric power generation and heat supply company principally engaged in producing and supplying electricity and heat through multiple energy sources including thermal power, hydropower, wind power, solar energy, distributed energy, gas power, biomass, and nuclear energy. The company also offers services such as power plant maintenance, operation and maintenance services, electricity distribution, coal wholesale and procurement, industrial water supply, and power station construction and operation. Jilin Electric Power operates mainly in the northeast region of China, with headquarters located in Changchun. Founded in 1993 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2002, the company is involved in new energy investment and development alongside its conventional energy production activities. Recent major developments include the commencement of a $822 million renewable ammonia production plant in Da'an, which began operation in July 2025. This project combines 700 MW of wind power and 100 MW of solar photovoltaic power with a 40 MW energy storage system, integrating advanced PEM and alkaline electrolysis technology to support hydrogen energy and green fuel industries. This effort reflects Jilin Electric Power's strategic expansion into renewable and green energy sectors aligned with China’s decarbonization objectives. Additionally, in 2024 the company secured approval for eight new wind power projects and publicly issued bonds to support science and technology innovation and rural revitalization. The company also planned a significant investment of approximately 5.7 billion yuan in a coal-fired power project, illustrating a balanced energy portfolio approach. Jilin Electric Power continues to develop its regulated electric power generation and sales business while actively expanding its renewable energy portfolio and technological innovation capacity. Its broad product and service range, strategic growth in renewables, and the integration of cutting-edge green technologies position it as a critical player in China's transition to diversified and sustainable energy systems. The company serves a wide customer base across industrial, municipal, and regional markets within China and positions itself as a leader in clean energy production and electric power infrastructure development.
