- Amplify Weight Loss Drug & Treatment ETF (THNR) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide investment results corresponding generally to the performance, before fees and expenses, of the VettaFi Weight Loss Drug & Treatment Index, which tracks global companies positioned to benefit from weight loss drug development and related treatments. Launched on May 21, 2024, and listed on NYSE Arca, the ETF employs a full replication strategy to invest in approximately 20 constituents selected from an eligible universe of companies with market capitalizations of at least $500 million and three-month average daily trading volume of at least $1 million; these include drug manufacturers classified across commercial drugs, Phase 3 drugs, Phase 2 drugs and below, and combination therapies, as well as enablers such as telehealth providers and firms involved in outsourced development, manufacturing, production support, and distribution of GLP-1 agonist drugs. The portfolio allocates 70% to manufacturers and 30% to enablers, with securities weighted by float-adjusted market capitalization subject to caps based on development stage and company type, followed by quarterly rebalancing in March, June, September, and December.
Headquartered in Wheaton, Illinois, through its sponsor Amplify ETF Trust, the fund is managed by Amplify Investments LLC as investment adviser and Penserra Capital Management LLC as sub-adviser, with shares issued by Amplify Holding Co. LLC. It targets investors seeking concentrated exposure to the biopharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, particularly large-cap companies comprising around 80% of assets, alongside mid- and small-cap names vulnerable to sector-specific risks like regulation, litigation, competition, and clinical trial outcomes. Geographically, holdings span global markets, including U.S. and foreign issuers with heightened volatility from emerging markets, political, economic, and currency factors.
Since inception, THNR has maintained its passive indexing approach without reported acquisitions, funding rounds, partnerships, or strategic shifts as of late 2025, reflecting its recent launch and focus on quarterly index reconstitution amid growing interest in GLP-1 therapies.
