The fund invests principally in equity securities, including common stocks and depositary receipts such as American Depositary Receipts and Global Depositary Receipts, of global companies with significant business operations in the field of smart materials, also known as intelligent or responsive materials that change properties in response to external stimuli like temperature, electricity, or stress; materials with advanced, innovative, or disruptive qualities; and technologies promoting advances in smart materials research. Top holdings as of December 2025 include Applied Materials Inc. (5.22%), Merck & Co. Inc. (5.13%), Hexcel Corp. (4.88%), Corning Inc. (4.65%), PPG Industries Inc. (4.63%), Solvay SA (4.61%), Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. (4.55%), Sika AG (4.53%), Arkema SA (4.49%), and Cabot Corp. (4.43%), with approximately 30 holdings weighted by market capitalization subject to a 4.5% single-company cap; the index is rebalanced every May and November using a natural language processing algorithm to scan public filings and select the top 30 companies by exposure level. TINT provides exposure to companies across materials, information technology, and related sectors, with significant geographic concentration in the United States, Europe (including France, Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands), South Korea, Japan, and Canada, targeting investors seeking thematic opportunities in a market projected to expand due to applications in electronics, energy efficiency, and advanced manufacturing. Launched on October 26, 2021, and managed by ProShare Advisors LLC, a subsidiary of ProShares headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, the ETF has an expense ratio of 0.58%, quarterly distributions, and options availability on NYSE Arca. No major acquisitions, funding rounds, partnerships, name changes, or strategic reorganizations have been announced for TINT in the last 1-2 years; the fund continues to operate under its original structure following its launch as part of ProShares' expansion of thematic ETFs, with ongoing portfolio adjustments driven by semi-annual index reconstitutions and typical turnover of around 53%.
