The company manufactures and sells a diverse range of chemical products across multiple segments: Chemicals, Cement, Electronic and Advanced Materials, Life Science, and Eco Business. Its Chemicals segment includes caustic soda (liquid and solid), propylene oxide, methylene chloride, vinyl chloride monomer, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. The Cement segment produces ordinary, early-strength, and medium-heat Portland cement and engages in recycling services. Electronic and Advanced Materials cover high-purity polycrystalline silicon, fumed silica, high-purity aluminum nitride (powder and granules), boron nitride, and various high purity chemicals for electronics manufacturing. Life Science comprises fine chemicals, dental materials and equipment, medical diagnosis systems, and in vitro diagnostics. The Eco Business segment focuses on environmental products and ion-exchange membranes. Recent major changes include the acquisition and reorganization of subsidiaries to strengthen its dental materials and equipment business in Europe, with the establishment and renaming of a newly acquired company to Tokuyama Life Science Corporation in 2025. Tokuyama also announced suspension of one cement kiln operation reflecting strategic operational adjustments, and it continues to invest in new facility projects such as building a polysilicon plant in Vietnam to support semiconductor supply chain expansion. The company maintains a strong R&D focus on high-performance materials, including new product launches in high-quality silica and boron nitride for cosmetics and advancements in photochromic materials and hard coating solutions for plastic lenses. Tokuyama targets industrial customers in chemical production, semiconductor manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and environmental sectors. It operates with approximately 5,782 employees and reported strong profit growth in fiscal 2025 despite slight sales decline, affirming its competitive position in specialty chemicals and advanced materials globally.
