- Talga Group Ltd (ASX:TLG) is an Australia-based battery anode and advanced materials company focused on the development and production of sustainable graphite-based products for the global energy transition. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in West Perth, Australia, the company operates through graphite exploration, graphite development, and research and development segments across Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Australia; it holds 100% owned graphite projects in Sweden including the flagship Vittangi Anode Project. Talga offers a range of innovative graphitic materials, including its core battery anode product Talnode-C, a natural graphite anode with ultra-low carbon footprint produced in Sweden; Talnode-R, a silicon-doped anode variant; Talphene graphene additives for battery cathodes and conductive applications; and advanced materials for consumer electronics, energy storage systems, consumer goods, and industrial markets.
The company maintains vertical integration from its Swedish natural graphite resources through mining, processing, and anode production facilities in Luleå, northern Sweden, ensuring supply chain security and low-emission outputs for electric vehicle, grid storage, and industrial customers.
In recent developments, Talga raised A$10 million via a share placement in May 2025 to accelerate pre-final investment decision activities for the Vittangi Anode Project, including scaling Talnode-C supply to offtake partners; secured a non-binding letter of intent with Verkor for anode supply to its 16 GWh gigafactory in France; entered the US battery market through a strategic partnership with United Catalyst Corporation for sustainable anode materials; and applied for a 1.1 billion SEK grant from the Swedish Energy Agency in December 2025 to fund an initial 5,000 tpa commercial-scale anode plant, complementing a €70 million EU Innovation Fund grant and €150 million pre-approved European Investment Bank loan.
