A Toyota Group member, Kyowa Leather Cloth maintains factories in Japan including Tenryu, Shinshiro, Fukude and Asaba, with overseas affiliates such as Kyowa-GSK Plastics (Langfang) Co., Ltd. in China, Thai Nam-Kyowa Company Limited in Thailand and Kyowa North America, Inc. in the United States; it serves global automotive original equipment manufacturers and targets markets in Japan, Asia, North America and Europe. Founded in 1935 through the merger of four companies and headquartered in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, the company generated consolidated sales of 56.3 billion yen for the fiscal year ended March 2025. Recent developments include the June 2021 launch of the Sobagni ethical leather e-commerce website expanding into consumer fashion items; the October 2021 establishment of Kyowa North America, Inc. as an equity-method affiliate to bolster U.S. operations; the July 2018 merger of Nankai Technart, Nihon Gravure and Kyowle into Kyowa LifeTechno Co., Ltd.; and the April 2022 transition to the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market following exchange reorganization.
