Business
Treasury Wine Estates Limited (ASX: TWE; OTC: TSRYF) produces, markets and distributes premium and luxury still and sparkling wines worldwide. The company owns and operates vineyards and wineries spanning over 10,000 hectares in key regions including Australia's Barossa Valley, the United States' Napa Valley, New Zealand's Marlborough, France's Bordeaux and Italy's Tuscany; it also sources grapes from premium growers and bulk wine partners. Its brand portfolio features flagship luxury labels such as Penfolds, alongside premium offerings including Wolf Blass, Wynns, 19 Crimes, Chateau St Jean, Sterling Vineyards, Beringer, BV, Stags' Leap and Maison de Grand Esprit, organized into three divisions: Penfolds, Treasury Collective and Treasury Americas; products reach consumers in more than 100 countries through distributors, wholesalers, retailers and direct channels. Founded through the demerger from Foster's Group and listed on the ASX in 2011, Treasury Wine Estates maintains global headquarters in Melbourne, Australia, with major facilities in Napa, California; Twickenham, United Kingdom; and Shanghai, China, supported by approximately 2,500 team members. Recent developments include the 2023 acquisition of DAOU Vineyards, the fastest-growing luxury wine brand in the United States, for an initial US$900 million to bolster its Americas presence; the announced purchase of a 75% stake in China's Stone & Moon Winery in Ningxia for US$18 million, set to complete mid-2025, enhancing local production and Penfolds' multi-country sourcing with Cabernet Sauvignon and Marselan varietals; and the October 2025 withdrawal of full-year earnings growth guidance for fiscal 2025-26 amid softer China trading for Penfolds and US distributor transition issues, alongside a significant goodwill impairment on its Americas business.
