- Viet Capital Commercial Joint Stock Bank, commercially known as BVBank, is a Vietnam-based financial institution primarily engaged in the provision of commercial banking, retail banking, corporate financial solutions, and treasury services to individual consumers, micro-enterprises, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and corporate clients across Vietnam. The bank operates through three principal business segments: Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, and Treasury and Financial Markets. Its retail banking portfolio comprises demand, term, and tiered savings deposits, certificates of deposit, and digital savings accounts; residential mortgages, home improvement loans, auto loans, unsecured personal loans, consumer installment credit, and overdraft facilities; credit, debit, and prepaid payment cards issued under Visa, JCB, and NAPAS networks; domestic and cross-border remittance services, bill collection and utility payments, foreign exchange transactions, and safe deposit lockers; and bancassurance products distributed in partnership with life and general insurance providers. For corporate and SME clients, the bank provides short-term working capital facilities, medium- and long-term project finance, equipment and asset leasing loans, and specialized agricultural loans; trade finance instruments, including import and export letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, and bid bonds; cash and liquidity management, escrow accounts, automated payroll processing, merchant point-of-sale acquiring, and collection services; and supply chain and distributor financing programs. Its treasury and financial markets segment conducts interbank money market transactions, foreign currency spot, forward, and swap trading, government and corporate bond dealing, and interest rate hedging solutions. The bank distributes its financial offerings through an extensive nationwide network of full-service branches, transaction offices, automated 24/7 digital kiosks, and digital channels, notably the Digimi mobile banking application and corporate internet banking platform.
Originally founded in 1992 as Gia Dinh Commercial Joint Stock Bank and formerly operating under the Viet Capital Bank brand, the institution is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In recent developments, the bank completed a comprehensive corporate rebranding, adopting the commercial brand identity BVBank to reinforce its positioning as an agile, digital-first retail and SME bank. In line with its digital transformation strategy, the bank enhanced its Digimi ecosystem, introduced automated digital transaction points (DigiStore), and integrated artificial intelligence and automated electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) protocols for digital account opening and streamlined lending. Furthermore, the bank expanded strategic open-banking API partnerships with major fintech platforms, digital wallet operators, and e-commerce ecosystems to broaden financial inclusion and payment integration. To support ongoing balance-sheet growth and comply with Basel II and Basel III prudential standards, BVBank completed charter capital increases through public equity offerings and convertible bond placements, while continuing strategic preparations to transfer its equity listing from the Unlisted Public Company Market (UPCoM: BVB) to the main board of the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE).
