Business
Helio Energy Joint Stock Company is a Vietnam-based renewable energy investment and power generation company primarily engaged in the development, operation, and asset management of solar energy infrastructure. Founded in June 2020 as Alpha Solar 1 Company Limited and restructured into a joint stock company under its current name in 2021, the company is headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam, and operates within the Amber Holdings ecosystem, with Helio Power Joint Stock Company holding a controlling interest. Helio Energy operates through specialized energy subsidiaries and special purpose vehicles across utility and distributed clean energy segments, offering a portfolio of products and services that comprises: commercial and industrial rooftop solar photovoltaic power generation systems; utility-scale ground-mounted solar power plants; clean electricity generation and off-take supply delivered under long-term power purchase agreements to national grid operator Vietnam Electricity as well as industrial and agricultural corporate off-takers; technical asset management and system integration services; and professional operation and maintenance solutions, including real-time PV monitoring, preventive electrical maintenance, performance optimization, and grid-connection management. The company maintains operational solar assets across strategic economic zones and high-irradiation regions in Southern, Central, and Central Highland provinces of Vietnam, including Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Ho Chi Minh City. In recent corporate developments, Helio Energy transitioned to a publicly traded company on the Hanoi Stock Exchange UPCoM market under the ticker symbol HIO in October 2023. Following its public listing, the company executed major capital raising initiatives through rights issues to finance strategic consolidation and capacity expansion, notably completing the acquisition of a majority controlling interest of approximately 59% in SD Truong Thanh Joint Stock Company, the owner and operator of the 50 MWp Thuan Minh 2 Solar Power Plant in Binh Thuan Province, substantially scaling its total operating power generation portfolio from distributed rooftop installations to large-scale grid-tied renewable generation.
