- PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) is a Vietnam-based downstream petroleum company primarily engaged in the distribution, wholesale, retail, and international trading of crude oil and refined petroleum products. The company operates through three principal business segments: Petroleum Trading and Distribution, Crude Oil Export and Supply, and Petrochemical and Related Services. Its product and service portfolio comprises crude oil marketing, export agency, and domestic refinery feedstock supply; automotive motor gasolines, including RON 95-III, RON 95-V, and E5 RON 92 bio-gasoline; automotive and industrial diesel oils, including DO 0.05%S and Euro 5-compliant DO 0.001%S-V; commercial aviation fuels (Jet A-1) and marine gas oils; industrial fuel oils (FO); specialized automotive, marine, and industrial lubricants under the PV Lube brand; ethanol manufacturing and biofuel blending; and non-fuel retail offerings, including PVOIL Mart convenience stores, automotive maintenance, and roadside catering services. PVOIL also delivers automated fuel management and cashless fleet payment solutions via its proprietary PVOIL Easy and PVOIL B2B mobile platforms.
Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, PVOIL operates as a key subsidiary of the state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam). The company serves commercial enterprises, transportation fleets, aviation operators, industrial manufacturers, and retail motorists through an extensive domestic supply chain that includes over 800 company-owned filling stations and a network of more than 3,000 franchised and affiliated outlets across all 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam, as well as international wholesale and retail distribution operations in Laos through its subsidiary, PVOIL Laos.
In recent developments, PVOIL has advanced its multi-energy retail strategy by forming a nationwide partnership with electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast to deploy electric vehicle charging station infrastructure across its filling station network. The company has expanded its non-fuel retail footprint through the scaling of PVOIL Mart convenience store concepts and integrated roadside service rest stops along major transport corridors. PVOIL has also accelerated its digital transformation roadmap by upgrading its PVOIL Easy cashless platform, integrating nationwide automated electronic invoicing systems, and expanding payment partnerships with commercial banks and digital wallet providers. In addition, the corporation continues to optimize its downstream logistics infrastructure by upgrading coastal petroleum storage terminals, expanding regional bunkering and distribution depots, and preparing its product portfolio for higher-grade Euro 5 emission standard fuels and emerging clean energy alternatives.
