Port of Hai Phong Joint Stock Company (UPCoM: PHP), a subsidiary of Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC), is a Vietnam-based maritime terminal operator and logistics service provider primarily engaged in seaport operations, cargo stevedoring, warehousing, and marine auxiliary services. Founded in 1874 and headquartered in Hai Phong, Vietnam, the company serves as the principal maritime trade gateway for Northern Vietnam, catering to international container shipping lines, bulk carriers, freight forwarders, and industrial import-export enterprises across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The company provides a comprehensive suite of maritime and logistics services organized across its specialized terminal facilities, including Tan Vu Terminal, Chua Ve Terminal, and Hoang Dieu Terminal. Its core offerings include: container handling and stevedoring services for international and domestic containerized freight; breakbulk, dry bulk, heavy-lift, and oversized project cargo stevedoring; marine vessel support operations, including harbor tugboat towing, vessel escort, mooring and unmooring, pilotage assistance, fresh water bunkering, and ship cleaning; warehousing and container yard management, encompassing inland container depot (ICD) operations, bonded warehousing, open container yards, container freight station (CFS) cargo consolidation, and refrigerated container monitoring and electrical plugging; and multimodal logistics solutions, including river barge lightering across the Red River Delta, road haulage transport, cargo tallying, and customs clearance facilitation. In recent strategic developments, Port of Hai Phong Joint Stock Company is undertaking a major capacity expansion through the development and operational commissioning of Berths No. 3 and No. 4 at the Lach Huyen International Gateway Deep-Sea Port, designed to accommodate large container vessels of up to 100,000 DWT (8,000 to 14,000 TEU) for direct transoceanic service routes. In conjunction with this expansion, the company has deployed advanced cargo-handling machinery, including modern super-post-Panamax Ship-to-Shore (STS) gantry cranes and electrified Rubber-Tyred Gantry (e-RTG) cranes. Operationally, the company has initiated the phased relocation and transition of its historic Hoang Dieu terminal to accommodate municipal urban bridge infrastructure projects in Hai Phong, shifting dry bulk and general cargo handling to alternative regional facilities. Additionally, the company has accelerated its digital transformation initiatives by rolling out smart electronic port (ePort) management platforms, automated gate access systems, and modern Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) to enhance vessel turnaround efficiency and cargo processing workflows.
