- Vinahud Urban and Housing Development Investment JSC (UPCOM: VHD) is a Vietnam-based real estate investment, property development, and construction services company. Founded in 2000 as a project management unit under Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex) and corporatized as a joint stock company in 2007, the company is headquartered in Cau Giay District, Hanoi, Vietnam.
The company operates across multiple integrated business segments, offering a comprehensive portfolio of products and services: real estate investment and development, comprising master-planned urban zones, residential housing complexes, commercial office properties for lease and sale, and luxury hospitality and eco-tourism resort projects such as the Vien Nam Eco-Urban and Amusement Resort in Hoa Binh, ParaHills Resort in Hoa Binh, and the Grand Mercure Hoi An oceanfront resort complex; engineering and construction contracting, including general construction, structural assembly, civil engineering, industrial installations, transportation infrastructure, and hydraulic works; technical and consulting services, encompassing architectural design, interior design, structural engineering, investment consultancy, project management, and construction supervision; property management and facility operation services, providing operational management, utility administration, and maintenance for residential developments and commercial facilities; and commercial trading, including the wholesale distribution of building materials, electrical equipment, and construction machinery. The company primarily serves retail homebuyers, hospitality guests, commercial tenants, corporate enterprises, and public-sector infrastructure entities across northern and central Vietnam.
In recent developments, Vinahud has undertaken comprehensive strategic, operational, and financial restructuring initiatives to alleviate balance sheet pressures, settle outstanding credit and bond liabilities, and restore operational profitability. Following the complete divestment of Vinaconex's ownership stake in 2021 and subsequent corporate alignment with the R&H Group ecosystem under Chairman Truong Quang Minh, the company has actively rationalized its asset portfolio. Key restructuring actions include the divestment and equity transfer of holdings in capital-intensive project enterprises, notably transferring equity in Xuan Phu Hai Investment and Construction JSC (the project company for Grand Mercure Hoi An) and divesting rights in other non-core property assets including the Tien Phong Flower Village project to reduce debt service burdens. Concurrently, Vinahud is implementing capital remediation plans to address equity criteria and disclosure guidelines set forth by the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) while refocusing its capital allocation on high-viability urban housing and eco-resort assets in northern Vietnam.
