Business
Verde Clean Fuels, Inc. is a development-stage clean energy technology company that owns and deploys proprietary syngas-to-gasoline plus (STG+®) gas-to-liquids technology to convert syngas derived from natural gas, renewable natural gas, biomass, municipal solid waste, mixed plastics and other feedstocks into low-carbon, fully finished liquid fuels, primarily renewable gasoline and, in certain applications, methanol; the company also develops modular, industrial-scale deployment solutions and related licensing or capital-lite commercialization opportunities. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, Verde Clean Fuels is a Delaware corporation with principal executive offices at 711 Louisiana Street, Suite 2160, Houston, and an office and demonstration plant in Hillsborough, New Jersey, serving energy and fuels markets in the United States and other regions where low-carbon transportation fuel demand is emerging. In February 2026, Verde announced a revised strategy to deploy its technology through capital-lite opportunities and to implement a material cost-reduction program targeting a 50% reduction in costs while it evaluates strategic alternatives; in March 2026, it named George Burdette chief executive officer and engaged Roth Capital Partners to advise on strategic alternatives, including potential partnerships, licensing transactions, mergers, asset sales or other strategic transactions. In February 2026, the company also suspended development of its Permian Basin project amid changing market conditions, and in January 2025 it closed a $50 million equity investment from Cottonmouth Ventures, a wholly owned subsidiary of Diamondback Energy, Inc., supporting its continued technology development and commercialization efforts.
