Business
Friedrich Vorwerk Group SE provides energy transportation and transformation infrastructure solutions for natural gas, electricity, hydrogen, and adjacent markets across Germany and Europe. Founded in 1962 and headquartered in Tostedt, Germany, the company operates through four main segments: Natural Gas, offering pipeline construction, high-pressure transport systems, compressor stations, gas pressure control and metering systems; Electricity, delivering underground cable installation, jointing, testing, and high-voltage transmission networks including projects like SuedLink; Clean Hydrogen, encompassing electrolyser technologies such as 10 MW green hydrogen plants, pipeline infrastructure, and conversion systems; and Adjacent Opportunities, providing cathodic corrosion protection, district heating solutions, biogas and synthetic gas treatment via OrQA flow metering, wastewater transport, and specialty chemical industry technologies. With over 2,100 employees at 14 locations, it serves network operators, energy suppliers, industry, and municipalities, emphasizing automated welding, horizontal directional drilling, process engineering, and remote monitoring. Recent developments include the April 2024 acquisition of Seyde und Coburg Kathodischer Korrosionsschutz GmbH to bolster corrosion protection services; major contracts in 2024-2025 for South German Natural Gas Pipeline (SEL) sections totaling 128 km, EWA and WAD pipelines, a 43 km SuedLink power line segment, and a Statkraft 10 MW electrolysis plant; 2025 site acquisitions in Stade and Brunn, plus the renaming of VORWERK-EEE GmbH to VORWERK Gas Technology GmbH.
