Business
voxeljet AG voxeljet AG (VJET) manufactures industrial 3D printing systems specializing in powder binder jetting technology for sand, plastic, and ceramics; offers High Speed Sintering (HSS) for functional polymer parts using materials such as PA12, PP, TPU, PEBA, and EVA; and provides Universal Binder Jetting (UBJ) for high-precision sand molds, PMMA lost patterns, and ceramic prints with build volumes up to 4,000 x 2,000 x 1,000 mm, including flagship models like the VX4000, the world's largest 3D printer for sand. The company operates on-demand 3D printing service centers in Germany, the United States, India, and China, producing molds, models, prototypes, and small to medium series for industries including foundries, automotive, aerospace, architecture, art, design, and consumer goods; serves end markets such as metal casting, investment casting, lightweight construction, and rapid prototyping with applications in electromobility, film props, architectural models, and shoe production. Founded in 1999 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich and headquartered in Friedberg, Germany, near Augsburg in Bavaria, voxeljet AG maintains global operations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Asia Pacific, and the Americas. In December 2024, voxeljet AG enters into a definitive agreement to sell its entire operating business to funds affiliated with Anzu Partners LLC via an asset deal valued at an enterprise value of approximately EUR 20 million, with closing anticipated in March or April 2025 subject to shareholder approval at a first-quarter general meeting, German foreign investment clearance, and a go-shop period ending January 12, 2025; post-closing, Anzu managing partner Whitney Haring-Smith chairs the board while CEO Rudolf Franz leads the business to accelerate industrial-scale 3D printing growth. The company recently launches next-generation VJET X 3D printers, offering ten times faster printing speeds than prior models with full automation integration for sand cores and industrial production, alongside ongoing advancements like cold IOB 3D printing technology debuted at GIFA 2023 and volume contracts such as with Tooling & Equipment International for sand molds.
