Business
ViewRay Systems, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets the MRIdian A3i Radiation Therapy System, an MRI-guided adaptive radiotherapy platform that integrates high-definition MRI imaging, precise radiation delivery and proprietary software to visualize, target and treat soft-tissue tumors in real time while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue; the system supports treatments for prostate, pancreas, liver, lung, breast and oligometastatic cancers, among others, and fits standard radiation therapy vaults without structural modifications. Founded in 2004 and originally headquartered in Oakwood Village, Ohio, with later operations referenced in Denver, Colorado, the company serves university research hospitals, community hospitals, private practices, government institutions and freestanding cancer centers across the United States, Italy, France, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and other international markets through direct sales and distributors. In July 2023, predecessor ViewRay, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRAY) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, which converted to Chapter 7 liquidation in October 2023, followed by Nasdaq delisting and OTC trading under VRAYQ; ViewRay Systems, Inc. emerged as a new privately held entity on February 6, 2024, acquiring all assets of the original company including intellectual property, inventory, software, quality management systems and technical documentation to continue operations and commercialization of the MRIdian A3i system.
