Business
Winc, Inc. Winc, Inc. (WBEV) operates as a direct-to-consumer wine club and producer that sources, bottles, labels, and distributes wines under its own winery license in the United States, with products available internationally through wholesale channels. The company offers a curated selection of wines and non-alcoholic wines under brands including Summer Water, Wonderful Wine Company, Lost Poet, Folly of the Beast, Chop Shop, and Cherries and Rainbows; ready-to-drink cocktails; spirits; and beers, sold via subscription memberships featuring personalized palate profile quizzes, customizable 6- or 12-bottle shipments, online retail, retailers, and restaurants. Founded in 2011 as Club W, Inc. and renamed Winc, Inc. in September 2016, it maintains headquarters in the Los Angeles area of California and targets U.S. markets permitting direct wine shipping while leveraging data analytics for customer recommendations and supply chain management. In late 2022, Winc, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, emerging in August 2023; its operating assets, including key wine brands, were acquired by Amass Brands shortly thereafter, enabling integration of its DTC e-commerce platform with Amass's retail wine and spirits portfolio. Subsequently, Winc transitioned under Full Glass Wine Co. following that entity's 2023 formation and further expansions via acquisitions of other DTC wine clubs like Wine Insiders, with its platform re-platformed to Shopify Plus and additional portfolio growth through purchases of Splash Wines and Scout & Cellar.
