Business
FT Wilshire 5000 Index Portfolio Investment Class Shares (WFIVX) is an open-end mutual fund that seeks to replicate as closely as possible, before the deduction of expenses, the performance of the FT Wilshire 5000 Index, a comprehensive float-adjusted measure of the U.S. equity market comprising all U.S.-headquartered stocks with readily available price data. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in equity securities of companies included in or representative of the index, employing enhanced stratified sampling techniques to hold stocks representing at least 90% of the index's total market value; its portfolio is heavily weighted toward U.S. stocks (98.72%), with top sectors including technology (33.03%), financial services (13.26%), and consumer cyclical (10.56%), and leading holdings such as NVIDIA Corp (6.76%), Apple Inc (5.91%), and Microsoft Corp (5.87%). Launched on February 1, 1999, and managed by Wilshire Mutual Funds, Inc. from its headquarters at 1299 Ocean Avenue, Suite 700, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, the fund targets long-term investors seeking broad U.S. market exposure through a blend style across large-cap and total market capitalization, with total net assets of approximately $300.28 million, a net expense ratio of 0.56%, and a minimum initial investment of $1,000. The management team includes Thomas Stevens (since April 2002), Hal Reynolds and Daniel Allen (since January 2011), and Daniel Arche (since April 2021). No major acquisitions, funding rounds, partnerships, new product launches, or strategic shifts have been reported for the fund in the last 1-2 years; it continues to operate with stable indexing methodology amid the FT Wilshire 5000 Index's rebranding from the prior Wilshire 5000 Total Market Index prior to June 2021.
