Xilinx, Inc. (XLNX) designs, develops and markets programmable logic devices including field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) such as Virtex, Kintex, Artix and Spartan families; complex programmable logic devices (CPLDs); adaptive system-on-chips (SoCs) including Zynq and Versal series with integrated ARM processors; three-dimensional integrated circuits; software design tools such as Vivado Design Suite and Vitis; intellectual property (IP) cores for Ethernet, PCI Express, digital signal processing and embedded applications; configuration products; development boards and kits; Alveo data center accelerator cards; and related services encompassing design assistance, customer training, field engineering and technical support, serving electronic equipment manufacturers across end markets including data centers, wired and wireless communications, aerospace and defense, industrial, automotive, test and measurement, consumer and broadcast. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in San Jose, California, the company pioneered the first commercially viable FPGA and fabless manufacturing model, with global operations spanning the United States, Europe, Asia and other regions. As of February 2022, Xilinx operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) following a $50 billion all-stock acquisition completed that month, with its product lines rebranded under AMD Xilinx and the standalone Xilinx brand phased out by June 2023.
