Business
Innovator Equity Defined Protection ETF – 1 Yr February is a U.S.-domiciled, actively managed defined-outcome exchange-traded fund sponsored by Innovator Capital Management, LLC, a subsidiary of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. The fund seeks to provide investment results, before fees and expenses, that correspond to the price return of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust, up to a predetermined upside cap, while providing a 100% downside protection buffer over successive one-year outcome periods beginning in February. The ETF obtains its exposure principally through a portfolio of exchange-traded FLEX Options referencing SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust shares, rather than through direct holdings of the underlying S&P 500 constituent companies; it generally invests at least 80% of net assets, plus borrowings for investment purposes, in instruments providing exposure to SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust. Its products and services consist of a single exchange-traded investment vehicle offering capped U.S. large-cap equity-market participation, defined one-year downside protection, options-based portfolio construction, daily liquidity and exchange trading under the ticker ZFEB; the fund is non-diversified and targets financial advisers, wealth managers, institutions and other investors seeking risk-managed equity exposure. ZFEB was formed on January 31, 2025, and is part of Innovator ETFs Trust; Innovator Capital Management, founded in 2017 and headquartered in Wheaton, Illinois, created the first Buffer ETFs in 2018 and offers a broader U.S. suite of Defined Outcome ETFs, including Buffer ETFs, Defined Protection ETFs, Defined Income ETFs, Dual Directional ETFs, 100% Buffer ETFs and Accelerated ETFs. In April 2026, Goldman Sachs completed its acquisition of Innovator Capital Management, integrating the defined-outcome ETF manager into Goldman Sachs Asset Management and expanding Goldman Sachs’ active, options-based ETF and wealth-management capabilities.
