Aflac Incorporated is a Fortune 500 American holding company primarily engaged in the provision of supplemental health and life insurance products. The company operates through two main segments: Aflac Japan and Aflac U.S. Its core insurance offerings include accident, cancer/specified disease, dental, hospital confinement indemnity, hospital intensive care, life, lump sum cancer critical illness, specified health event, short-term disability, and vision insurance. These products are designed to provide financial protection for expenses not covered by major medical insurance in both individual and group markets. In addition to individual policies, Aflac offers group insurance products such as dental, vision, life, disability, and absence management solutions targeted at large employers. The company operates extensively in the United States and Japan, with headquarters in Columbus, Georgia, and was founded in 1955. Recent major company changes include the launch of an enhanced individual Accident Insurance product in the U.S. in early 2025, expanding coverage to include mental health benefits.
