Business
Atrium Mortgage Investment Corporation (TSX: AI) operates as a mortgage investment corporation that provides alternative short-term mortgage financing solutions to the residential and commercial real estate development communities in major urban centers across Ontario and Western Canada. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, the company offers a range of mortgage products including land and development financing, construction and mezzanine financing, commercial term and bridge financing for residential, multi-residential and commercial properties, as well as residential mortgages; it generates revenue primarily from mortgage interest, fees and rental income while maintaining conservative lending practices with a high proportion of first mortgages in its portfolio. Atrium listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange in September 2012 and focuses on relationship-driven lending with an emphasis on reliability, flexibility and rapid execution for real estate developers and investors in stable, liquid markets. In 2025, Atrium completed a $25 million bought deal public offering of common shares in October to repay indebtedness under its revolving credit facility and fund future mortgage opportunities, reported strong quarterly results including assets of $894.4 million and net income growth in Q3, and announced monthly dividends at an annual rate of $0.93 per share with a dividend reinvestment plan offering a 2% discount. The company continues to expand its mortgage portfolio balance to record levels while preserving shareholder equity through prudent risk management.
