Business
Allego N.V. (NYSE: ALLG) operates as a leading European provider of electric vehicle charging solutions, accelerating the transition to electric mobility through 100% renewable energy-powered infrastructure. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio of products and services, including public and private EV charging ports for cars, buses, and trucks; proprietary software platforms such as Allamo for charging optimization and EV Cloud for authorization, billing, smart charging, load balancing, analysis, and customer support; site design and technical layout services; operations and maintenance for fleets, corporations, charging hosts, OEMs, and municipalities; sale and installation of charging equipment; and electricity supply to EV owners and drivers. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Arnhem, the Netherlands, Allego manages a network of nearly 35,000 charging ports across 16 countries in Europe, employing approximately 200 people and serving retail brands, auto manufacturers, municipalities, and commercial fleets as a subsidiary of Madeleine Charging B.V. In June 2024, majority shareholder Meridiam announced a tender offer to take Allego private, committing EUR 46 million for German operations and up to EUR 310 million in new equity-like capital post-delisting to fund growth, with the transaction approved by independent board members and expected to close in late 2024; the company also secured EBRD financing and EU grants for infrastructure expansion in 2024.
