Business
Metals Australia Ltd (ASX:MLS) explores and develops mineral deposits focused on critical minerals including graphite, lithium, gold, silver, copper, zinc, cobalt, nickel and base metals in Australia and Canada. The company holds its flagship Lac Rainy Graphite Project comprising 92 mineral claims over 45.5 square kilometers in eastern Quebec's major graphite province; Lac Carheil Graphite Project in Quebec; Corvette River Lithium Project in Quebec's James Bay region; Lac du Marcheur copper-cobalt project in Quebec; 80% interest in Manindi Critical Minerals Project near Perth in Western Australia's Murchison District; Warrambie Battery Metals Project in Western Australia's Pilbara region; Warrego East Project in Australia's Northern Territory; and Big Bell North Project in Western Australia. It targets battery minerals for lithium-ion batteries, precious metals and base metals serving mining and energy storage sectors across North America and Australia. Founded in 1981 and headquartered in West Perth, Australia, the company recently secured a C$600,000 non-dilutive grant from the Quebec Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests in 2025 to advance its Lac Carheil Flake-Graphite Project through a pre-feasibility study, drilling campaigns and battery anode material plant design; expanded landholdings at key projects in 2024; and progressed economic assessments for flake graphite production and downstream spherical graphite processing with high yields of 65% battery-quality material.
