The company operates primarily in the recreational vehicles segment of the consumer discretionary industry, with manufacturing in Nanjing, China; distribution centers in the Netherlands and Italy; and sales networks spanning Australia, Europe, Asia, the UK, Thailand, South Africa, Mexico and over 90 countries through more than 70 distributors and 2,000 dealers. Founded in 2001 and headquartered at 152-158 St Georges Terrace, Perth, Western Australia, Vmoto maintains key subsidiaries including Nanjing Vmoto Soco Intelligent Technology Co Ltd and recent UK and French entities. Recent developments include a full rebranding in April 2024 unifying Vmoto Soco under the Vmoto brand; full acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in Nanjing Vmoto Soco following its partner's bankruptcy settlement, making it a wholly owned subsidiary; strategic investments in fleet operators such as UK-based Zenion, Singapore's Evotion Labs and joint ventures in Thailand (with a new assembly plant), South Africa and Mexico; a February 2024 partnership with Altilium for lithium-ion battery recycling across the UK and Europe; the launch of the APD electric motorcycle concept developed with Pininfarina, winner of the Good Design Award 2024; ongoing partnerships as official electric scooter supplier to Porsche Carrera Cup Italia (2023-2025) and Ducati Corse; a May 2025 partnership with Uber to advance electric mobility in Europe; and establishment of Vmoto (Thailand) Co Ltd in May 2025 alongside participation in ProDay China 2025 to expand in Asia.
