Business
ATS Corporation stands as a global leader in providing advanced automation and technology solutions. The company specializes in developing, building, commissioning, and servicing sophisticated manufacturing and assembly systems for clients worldwide. Its comprehensive offerings encompass customized automation systems, including high-precision assembly lines, robotic workcells, material handling equipment, and advanced inspection solutions integrating machine vision and artificial intelligence. Beyond system development, ATS delivers extensive value-added services. This includes a robust suite of pre-automation support such as discovery, concept development, simulation, and total cost of ownership assessments, alongside detailed engineering design, prototyping, and process verification. Post-automation services are equally comprehensive, providing training, process optimization, preventative and emergency maintenance, spare parts management, equipment retrofits, and relocation assistance to ensure sustained operational efficiency. The company also offers contract manufacturing and advanced digital solutions, featuring connected factory floor management systems designed to collect, analyze, and leverage real-time machine performance data for troubleshooting, process and product enhancements, preventing downtime, and driving sustainable production improvements. ATS Corporation serves a diverse range of critical industries, including life sciences (spanning pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and diagnostics), transportation and mobility (automotive, aerospace, and electric vehicles), consumer products, food and beverage, energy (including nuclear, oil and gas, and renewables), and electronics markets. The company was founded in 1978 and maintains its headquarters in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. ATS has a significant global presence, operating across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania with over 65 manufacturing facilities and numerous offices. Recent strategic developments include the acquisition of Paxiom Group in July 2024, expanding its expertise in primary, secondary, and end-of-line packaging machinery, and the acquisition of Heidolph Instruments in August 2024, a provider of laboratory solutions. These moves bolster ATS's position in regulated industries where precision and reliability are paramount. Looking ahead, the company announced a restructuring plan in November 2025 to optimize operational efficiency, with implementation expected in fiscal 2026. ATS Corporation is listed on both the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol ATS.
