Business
Azucar Minerals Ltd. is a Canada-based mineral exploration and development company focused on acquiring and exploring porphyry copper-gold properties. The company holds a 100% interest in the El Cobre project, an approximately 11,860-hectare property in Veracruz, Mexico, located adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico about 75 kilometers northwest of Veracruz city, which hosts multiple copper-gold porphyry targets including Norte, Encinal, and three others along a four-to-five-kilometer trend consistent with the Cu-Au-Ag-Mo porphyry deposit model; it explores for gold, copper, silver, and molybdenum through drilling, geophysical surveys, soil sampling, and other exploration activities. In addition, Azucar maintains an option-joint venture agreement with Almadex Minerals Ltd. to acquire up to a 60% interest in three Nevada, USA properties—Pilot, Confusion Hills, and Red Ring—targeting porphyry copper-gold and epithermal gold-copper prospects, with approved drill permits and ongoing work including rock sampling, IP surveys, drone magnetics, and data interpretation for 2025 drilling. Founded in 2015 and headquartered at 1333 Johnston Street, Suite 210, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the company shifted its primary exploration focus in 2025 from Mexico to Nevada's porphyry targets, announced an option on the three U.S. projects in May 2025 with TSX Venture Exchange approval in October 2025, and experienced a management change with Executive Vice President Douglas McDonald resigning from all roles effective October 2, 2025, while transitioning to an advisory position. Almadex Minerals Ltd. holds a 19% interest in Azucar, reflecting related-party ties in their strategic Nevada collaboration.
