Business
Credicorp Ltd. is a Peru-based financial services holding company that operates through four principal business segments: Universal Banking, Insurance and Pensions, Microfinance, and Investment Banking and Wealth Management. Universal Banking, conducted primarily through subsidiary Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP), offers comprehensive retail and commercial banking products including loans, deposits, credit cards, and digital payment solutions via the Yape platform to individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients; Insurance and Pensions, through Grupo Pacífico Seguros and Prima AFP, provides property and casualty insurance, life insurance, health insurance, corporate health plans, and private pension fund management; Microfinance, via Mibanco, delivers loans, credits, deposits, and checking accounts tailored to small and microenterprises; and Investment Banking and Wealth Management, through Credicorp Capital, furnishes asset management, brokerage, corporate finance advisory, wealth management, capital markets services, and mutual fund management for high-net-worth individuals, institutions, corporations, and governments. The company serves approximately 20 million clients across diverse segments, with primary operations in Peru supplemented by presence in Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, Panama, Mexico, and the United States; it maintains headquarters in Lima, Peru, where it was incorporated in 1995 following the legacy of Banco Italiano founded in 1889. Recent developments include the completion in March 2025 of the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in the Pacifico Seguros joint venture with Empresas Banmédica, securing full ownership of private medical insurance and corporate health insurance operations including Pacifico EPS to enhance healthcare access and financial inclusion in Peru; additionally, in late 2024, Credicorp Capital initiated an investment recovery process covering up to $125.3 million in client exposures related to the Sartor Fund through affiliate Atlantic Security Holding Corporation.
