It operates primarily in the United States through its own commercial infrastructure while pursuing partnerships for international commercialization, serving patients with serious and debilitating conditions including those related to prior cancer treatment. In March 2022, BioDelivery Sciences International was acquired by Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc. Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc. in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $604 million, integrating its pain and neurology portfolio—including BELBUCA as a complementary Schedule III opioid product—into Collegium's offerings and enabling rapid synergies in chronic pain and adjacent neurology markets. Post-acquisition, the BEMA technology and product lines continue to support Collegium's expanded specialty pharmaceutical operations, with no significant further structural changes reported as of 2025.
