Business
Becton, Dickinson and Company (BDX) manufactures and distributes medical devices, instrument systems, and reagents worldwide. The company develops, produces, and sells a broad portfolio of products including syringes, catheters, infusion therapy devices, and diagnostic systems; safety-engineered sharps and vascular access products; BD Alaris infusion pumps and Pyxis medication management solutions; BD FACSAria flow cytometers and Rhapsody single-cell analysis platforms; and laboratory automation systems such as BD Kiestra and BD Synapsys informatics. BD operates in three main segments—BD Medical, BD Life Sciences, and BD Interventional—serving healthcare facilities, laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, and research institutions across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and emerging markets. Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, BD maintains a global presence with manufacturing facilities in more than 50 countries. In recent developments, BD completed the spin-off of its Biosciences solution business into a standalone entity in early 2025, enabling focused growth in high-margin diagnostics and cell analysis; the company also expanded its partnership with GE HealthCare for integrated medication management technologies and launched new Alaris iPC infusion pump features to enhance cybersecurity and interoperability.
