Business
Biohaven Ltd. (NYSE: BHVN) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative therapies targeting unmet needs in neuroscience, immunology, and oncology. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut, the company operates globally with a portfolio spanning multiple proprietary drug development platforms, including Kv7 ion channel modulation, extracellular protein degradation via MoDE and TRAP technologies, TRPM3 antagonism, TYK2/JAK1 inhibition, glutamate modulation, myostatin inhibition, and antibody-drug conjugates. Its lead product candidate, Vyglxia (troriluzole), a tripeptide prodrug of riluzole, targets spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) and received a Complete Response Letter from the U.S. FDA in November 2025 following submission of its New Drug Application, prompting Biohaven to pursue discussions with the agency and implement portfolio prioritization and cost-optimization measures slashing R&D expenses by approximately 60%. Core pipeline assets include taldefgrobep, a myostatin inhibitor in development for spinal muscular atrophy and obesity; BHV-7000, a selective Kv7.2/7.3 activator for epilepsy, major depressive disorder, and bipolar depression; BHV-2100, a TRPM3 antagonist for pain disorders; BHV-8000, a brain-penetrant TYK2/JAK1 inhibitor for Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, and prevention of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities; BHV-1300 and BHV-1310, IgG degraders for rheumatoid arthritis, Graves' disease, and myasthenia gravis; BHV-1400, a Gd-IgA1 degrader for IgA nephropathy; BHV-1600, a β1AR autoantibody degrader for peripartum cardiomyopathy; and oncology candidates such as BHV-1510 (Trop2 ADC), BHV-1530 (FGFR3 ADC), and BHV-1500 (CD30 ADC), alongside undisclosed targets from collaborations with Merus and GeneQuantum. Recent developments encompass a non-dilutive financing agreement with Oberland Capital Management in April 2025 providing up to $600 million in senior secured notes to support pipeline advancement and potential launches; an upsized public offering of common shares in November 2025 generating approximately $200 million in gross proceeds; first-in-human dosing with BHV-1400 demonstrating rapid Gd-IgA1 lowering in IgA nephropathy; and ongoing advancement of preclinical antibody-drug conjugates. Biohaven, which emerged from the 2022 spin-off and divestiture of its migraine portfolio (including Nurtec ODT and Zavzpret) to Pfizer, targets patients with rare genetic disorders, neurodegenerative conditions, autoimmune diseases, chronic pain, metabolic disorders, and cancers across the United States and international markets.
