Boot Barn serves a diverse customer base encompassing western lifestyle enthusiasts, rodeo participants, country music fans, rural residents, as well as tradespeople and industrial workers requiring durable, functional, and safety-compliant gear. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Huntington Beach, California, Boot Barn operates approximately 400 stores across 45 states along with a growing e-commerce platform that supports omnichannel capabilities including buy-online-pickup-in-store options. In the last 1-2 years, Boot Barn has pursued significant strategic expansion, including opening over 55 new stores in fiscal 2024 with a target to grow the store base to approximately 900 locations domestically. The company has also strengthened its omnichannel growth through renewed partnerships, notably expanding its collaboration with Affirm to enhance payment solutions and attract new clientele. Recent operational initiatives emphasize store expansion complemented by digital transformation efforts under new leadership, including an interim CEO appointed in late 2024 leading digital and AI advancements. The company continues to optimize supply chain efficiencies and merchandise margin expansion while balancing elevated inventory levels to support store growth. This expansion and strategic modernization underscore Boot Barn’s commitment to solidifying its position as the leading western and workwear retailer in the U.S. market.
