Business
Bruker Corporation develops, manufactures, and distributes advanced scientific instrumentation and analytical and diagnostic tools, enabling clients to investigate biological and material structures at the microscopic, molecular, and cellular levels. The company functions through several key operational segments. Its Bruker BioSpin Group delivers life science instruments utilizing magnetic resonance technologies, including NMR and EPR spectrometers, along with advanced imaging systems like MRI, PET, SPECT, CT, Optical, and MPI modalities. The Bruker CALID Group concentrates on life science mass spectrometry and ion mobility spectrometry solutions, providing analytical and process analysis instruments. This segment also encompasses infrared and Raman molecular spectroscopy technologies and detection systems for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive substances. The Bruker Scientific Instruments (BSI) Nano Segment offers sophisticated X-ray instruments, atomic force microscopy, advanced fluorescence optical microscopy systems, analytical tools for electron microscopes, and X-ray metrology. It further provides defect-detection equipment for semiconductor process control, portable X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, spark optical emission spectroscopy platforms, and ChipCytometry products and services for spatial proteomics, multi-omics, and spatial genomics research. The Bruker Energy & Supercon Technologies (BEST) segment is engaged in superconducting and non-superconducting materials and devices, supporting applications in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, healthcare, and large-scale scientific research. Bruker's portfolio recently expanded through strategic acquisitions in spatial biology, molecular diagnostics, and lab automation platforms. Founded in 1960 by Günther Laukien and Emil Bruker in Karlsruhe, Germany, the company maintains its global headquarters in Billerica, Massachusetts.
