Business
Raksan Transformers Limited is an India-based engineering and manufacturing company that specializes in the design, development, fabrication, testing, and supply of electrical power, distribution, and specialized industrial transformers. The company offers a comprehensive product and service portfolio comprising oil-immersed three-phase distribution transformers for rural and urban grid networks; high- and medium-voltage power transformers for transmission substations and electrical utilities; inverter-duty and step-up transformers specifically engineered for utility-scale solar plants and renewable energy installations; special-purpose and customized industrial transformers, including induction arc furnace transformers, dual-secondary transformers, isolation transformers, and dry-type units for heavy industrial manufacturing, mining, and chemical processing facilities; packaged compact substations (CSS) and unitized substations; structural transformer tanks, core assemblies, and fabricated enclosures; and lifecycle engineering support, including transformer diagnostic testing, retrofitting, refurbishment, maintenance, and on-site commissioning services. Raksan Transformers serves state power distribution utilities (Discoms), government electrical departments, renewable energy project developers, private commercial enterprises, and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors across India, maintaining strong regional operations in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan. The company benefits from operational backward integration through its affiliated entity, SHR Powers Private Limited, which manufactures transformer tanks and structural housings. Founded in 1995 as Raksan Transformers Private Limited and headquartered in Sonipat, Haryana, India, with its registered corporate office in New Delhi, the company operates an integrated manufacturing and testing facility in the HSIIDC Industrial Estate in Rai, Sonipat. In recent developments, the company converted from a private limited company to a public limited company in May 2025, adopting the name Raksan Transformers Limited. In September 2026, the company successfully completed its initial public offering (IPO) on the BSE SME platform, raising approximately INR 150.5 crore through a fresh issue and offer for sale. The company is utilizing the capital proceeds to fund working capital requirements supporting its growing order pipeline, expand manufacturing capacities, modernize automated testing and core fabrication lines, and scale production of specialized transformers for the expanding renewable energy sector.
