Business
TUI AG (TUI1.DE), one of the world's leading integrated tourism groups headquartered in Hanover, Germany, and founded in 1968 as Preussag AG before renaming in 2002, operates across the full tourism value chain, serving 33 million customers annually through tour operators, airlines, hotels, cruises, and activities; it provides package holidays via 1,200 travel agencies clustered in Northern, Central, and Western Europe; five airlines with around 130 aircraft for charter and scheduled flights; over 400 hotels and resorts under brands including TUI Blue, RIU, and Robinson offering 214,000 beds worldwide; 18 cruise ships via Hapag-Lloyd Cruises for luxury and expedition voyages, TUI Cruises for premium cruises, and Marella Cruises for the UK market; and TUI Musement for tours, activities, transfers, and multi-day experiences in major beach and city destinations. The company distributes services through direct-to-customer channels, online platforms, and third-party partners like online travel agents, with operations spanning Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and other regions, supported by 67,000 employees. Recent developments include a July 2025 mutual 20% share swap with Bentour Reisen AG and its subsidiary Nazar Nordic AB to bolster all-inclusive offerings in Türkiye and Greece for German-speaking and Nordic markets; a September 2025 strategic alliance with OMRAN Group in Oman, planning a first cluster of five joint hotels in Dhofar Governorate and issuing 1.4% new TUI shares in exchange for joint venture equity; and ongoing expansions such as seven new hotels in Africa to enhance regional clusters.
