Business
Transport Trade Services S.A. provides integrated logistics, inland waterway freight transport, and port operation services across the Danube River basin and the Black Sea region. Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Bucharest, Romania, the company operates through three core business segments: River Transport, Port Operations, and Forwarding. Its comprehensive service portfolio includes river freight transportation of dry bulk, breakbulk, and liquid cargo utilizing pushers, tugboats, self-propelled barges, and unpropelled river barges; port cargo handling and stevedoring services comprising ship-to-ship, ship-to-barge, barge-to-rail, and barge-to-truck transshipment; port storage and warehousing operations utilizing specialized grain silos, covered warehouses, and open storage platforms; agricultural commodity handling and conditioning services, including grain cleaning, drying, fumigation, separation, and automated weighing; multimodal freight forwarding integrating river, rail, and road transportation networks; marine bunkering and vessel supply logistics; and international agricultural and bulk commodity trading. Transport Trade Services S.A. serves multinational agribusinesses, metallurgical producers, chemical and fertilizer manufacturers, and global commodity traders, handling cargo categories such as agricultural products including wheat, corn, barley, and oilseeds; mineral commodities including iron ore, bauxite, coal, coke, and scrap metal; rolled and finished steel products; and chemical fertilizers and raw phosphate. The company maintains extensive logistical operations across Romania, Austria, Hungary, Germany, Serbia, Ukraine, and Moldova, managing port operations in the maritime Port of Constanța and across key Danube River ports including Galați, Brăila, Oltenița, Giurgiu, and Turnu Severin through principal subsidiaries including CNFR Navrom S.A., TTS Operator S.A., Decirom S.A., Canopus Star S.R.L., TTS Porturi Fluviale S.R.L., TTS (Transport Trade Services) GmbH, Plimsoll Zrt., and Bunker Trade Logistic S.R.L. In recent developments, Transport Trade Services S.A. completed the strategic acquisition of a 99.9% stake in port operator Decirom S.A. in the Port of Constanța for 21.8 million euros to vertically integrate its deep-sea port handling capabilities, followed by a 10 million euro investment program to modernize terminal infrastructure, cranes, and berth operational speeds. Additionally, the company expanded its river transport capacity through CNFR Navrom via a construction program for new EUROPA 2-type barges, enlarged storage and transshipment throughput at its Canopus Star grain terminal in Constanța, and realigned logistics corridors and river-to-sea transshipment assets across the Lower Danube to handle increased regional agricultural trade flows.
