Business
Byline Bancorp, Inc. operates as the bank holding company for Byline Bank, a full-service commercial bank primarily serving small- and medium-sized businesses, financial sponsors, and community customers. Its core products and services include a wide range of commercial banking solutions such as commercial and industrial loans; commercial real estate loans including term and construction loans for various property types like apartments, retail, office, industrial, and student housing; asset-based lending; franchise loans; lines of credit; letters of credit; and premium financed life insurance loans. The company also provides small ticket equipment leasing through its wholly owned subsidiary, Byline Financial Group. Additionally, Byline Bancorp offers treasury management, deposit products including various money market and certificate of deposit accounts, personal banking services, and wealth management and trust services such as investment management, individual retirement accounts, 401k management, personal trust, and philanthropic services. The bank further supports its customers with digital banking services including online account opening and remote deposit. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, and founded in 1978, Byline Bancorp operates primarily in the United States. Recent major changes include the completion of the merger with First Security Bancorp, Inc. and its subsidiary First Security Trust and Savings Bank in early 2025, a transaction valued at approximately $41 million in cash and stock designed to expand Byline's presence and strengthen its loan and deposit portfolio. Furthermore, Byline Bancorp announced a definitive merger agreement with Inland Bancorp, Inc. and Inland Bank and Trust in 2025, a cash and stock deal valued at approximately $165 million, aimed at creating Chicago's largest community bank with assets near $8 billion. This strategic expansion reflects Byline's ongoing M&A strategy focused on partnerships with complementary markets to enhance lending capacity, geographic reach, and product offerings. The company also raised $75 million through subordinated notes in 2025 to support growth initiatives. These activities underline Byline's commitment to expanding its commercial banking footprint while enhancing customer service and digital capabilities. Byline Bancorp employs over 1,000 people and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol BY.
