Business
Ledesma S.A.A.I. is an integrated agro-industrial company headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, engaged in the production, processing, and distribution of agricultural commodities, consumer food products, paper products, and renewable bioenergy. Founded in 1908, the company operates across five primary business segments: Sugar and Alcohol; Paper; Fruit and Juices; Corn Wet Milling; and Agriculture and Livestock. The company's diversified product and service portfolio comprises refined, raw, and organic sugars marketed under the Ledesma brand; tabletop sweeteners under the Sucaryl, Chuker, and SiDiet brands; uncoated woodfree printing and writing papers, photocopier papers, and school and office stationery produced from sugarcane bagasse under the Ledesma Autor, Ledesma NAT, Éxito, and Gloria brands; hydrated and anhydrous ethyl alcohol and sugarcane-derived bioethanol for the national fuel-blending mandate; fresh citrus fruits, including oranges, lemons, and grapefruits; concentrated citrus juices, essential citrus oils, and dried citrus peel; corn-derived sweeteners and starches, including high-fructose corn syrups, glucose syrups, native and modified industrial starches, maltodextrins, corn gluten meal, and crude corn oil produced via its Glucovil operations; and agricultural commodities, including soybeans, corn, wheat, sorghum, and live beef cattle. Ledesma's principal agro-industrial complex is situated in Libertador General San Martín in Jujuy Province, complemented by agricultural lands, orchards, and processing facilities located across Salta, San Luis, Buenos Aires, and Entre Ríos provinces, serving domestic industrial and retail sectors as well as international export markets throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia. In recent operational and strategic developments, Ledesma has expanded the international distribution and production capacity of its Ledesma NAT eco-sustainable paper line, which is produced from 100% sugarcane fiber without chemical bleaches or tree pulp. The company has also expanded its biomass cogeneration infrastructure at its Jujuy complex to increase renewable self-generation from bagasse and forestry residues, modernized its citrus packing and sorting facilities with automated optical grading technology, expanded pressurized drip irrigation across its northern plantations, and optimized product formulations across its corn wet milling derivatives to meet growing demand from industrial food and beverage processors.
