Business
Molinos Juan Semino SA is an Argentina-based agro-industrial enterprise engaged in wheat milling, cereal wet-fractionation, and the production of value-added grain derivatives for food, feed, and industrial applications. Founded in 1865 and headquartered in Carcarañá, Santa Fe Province, Argentina, the company operates an integrated industrial complex that processes raw agricultural commodities into refined food ingredients, specialized technical starches, and animal nutrition feeds. The company's core product portfolio includes Wheat Flours and Premixes, comprising standard bakery flours, whole wheat flours, pastry flours, industrial flours for pasta, cracker, and biscuit manufacturing, and custom baking premixes; Vital Wheat Gluten and Plant Proteins, comprising vital wheat gluten, hydrolyzed wheat proteins, and texturizing agents utilized in bakery volume optimization, meat processing, plant-based meat substitutes, aquaculture feeds, and pet food; Native and Modified Starches, encompassing native wheat starch, cationic starches, oxidized starches, pregelatinized starches, and etherified starches used across food manufacturing, corrugated cardboard fabrication, paper production, textile finishing, and industrial adhesives; Dextrins and Starch Hydrolysates, including white dextrins, yellow dextrins, and maltodextrins for confectionery, brewing, and binding formulations; and Animal Nutrition Products, comprising wheat bran, pelletized grain by-products, and gluten feed for livestock, dairy, swine, and poultry diets. Geographically, the company serves the domestic Argentine market and maintains export operations across Latin America, focusing on MERCOSUR trading partners including Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, and Paraguay, as well as select international export destinations. In recent developments, Molinos Juan Semino SA has undertaken capital expenditure initiatives to modernize its primary milling and wet-fractionation facilities in Carcarañá, enhancing processing capacity, automation, and energy efficiency across its modified starch and plant protein lines. Additionally, the company has expanded its environmental sustainability programs by upgrading its industrial wastewater anaerobic digestion and biogas capture system to supply renewable thermal energy for plant operations, while advancing strategic commercial distribution initiatives to expand its export footprint of specialty starches and plant-based protein ingredients throughout South America.
