Business
Cadence Bank operates as a regional financial services company providing a comprehensive range of banking and financial products primarily across the Southern United States and Texas. Founded in 1876 and headquartered in Tupelo, Mississippi, the bank offers core deposit products such as checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, and time deposits; various loan products including commercial, consumer, industrial, residential and commercial real estate loans, term loans, lines of credit, equipment and receivable financing, and Small Business Administration loans; mortgage services covering conforming, FHA, Jumbo, VA, and USDA loans as well as home equity lines of credit; credit cards; wealth management, fiduciary, private banking, and trust services; treasury management, merchant services, foreign exchange, and investment advisory services. Cadence also provides specialized lending including energy, restaurant, healthcare, technology, agricultural, asset-based lending, construction loans, and SBA financing. Recent notable developments include the 2025 acquisition of Industry Bancshares, Inc., which added approximately $4.1 billion in assets and expanded its presence in Texas and the South, as well as the integration of First Chatham Bank acquired in May 2025. These acquisitions have significantly increased the bank's loan and deposit base, contributing to strong earnings and improved net interest margins throughout 2025. In October 2025, Huntington Bancshares Incorporated announced a definitive agreement to acquire Cadence Bank in a $7.4 billion all-stock deal expected to be completed in 2026, aimed at enhancing scale and geographic reach across 21 states, notably strengthening Huntington's footprint in the Sun Belt region while preserving Cadence’s local branch network and customer relationships. This acquisition represents a major strategic shift expanding product offerings and digital capabilities under the Huntington brand going forward. Cadence Bank serves a broad spectrum of customers including individuals, small and medium-sized businesses, corporations, governmental institutions, and non-profit entities. Its business segments include Corporate Banking, Community Banking, Mortgage Services, and Banking Services. The bank’s services are delivered through an extensive branch network of over 350 locations, alongside digital channels. This positioned Cadence as a leading regional bank with over $55 billion in assets by mid-2025, committed to fostering community prosperity and maintaining strong local banking relationships while pursuing growth through acquisitions and operational integration.
